Funding in Indian startups this week (06 Sep-11 Sep)
This week, 47 Indian startups raised funds, 41 of which received a total of $ 767 million. Cars24 raised around $ 258.6 million, followed by Byju’s which raised $ 150 million.
Meanwhile, funding for six of the total funded startups has not been disclosed.
Below is the summary of the transactions concluded this week
by Byju: Continuing to raise funds, the edtech company Byju’s raised around $ 150 million from three investors. The new fund came at a time when the Bengaluru-based company is said to be in talks with several investors to raise $ 1.5 billion at a valuation of over $ 21 billion.
Delivery: Delivery, the logistics unicorn has raised $ 76.4 million in funding from Addition, the company founded by leading start-up investor Lee Fixel.
Cars24: Cars24 has become a leader in used cars and this has become more evident in view of the scale of the company, its global ambition and its new cycle. The Gurugram-based company raised $ 258.6 million from eight investors.
Open: The neo-banking platform Open has raised around $ 62 million in what appears to be a Series C funding round from Temasek, Google and existing investors such as Tiger Global Management and 3one4 Capital.
Skip funding: Leap Finance, a fintech platform for Indian students pursuing higher education abroad, has raised $ 55 million in its Series C led by Owl Ventures. This is the second fundraiser for the Bengaluru-based startup in 2021 which has won $ 17 million Series B in March.
Dukaan: Dukaan, an ecommerce activation platform, has secured $ 11 million in its pre-Series A round led by 640 Oxford Ventures. The new funds arrived nearly a year after a $ 6 million funding round for the Bengaluru-based startup.
Vahdam: Vahdam Teas, an e-commerce startup that sells fresh teas, has raised Rs 174 crore, or about $ 24 million, in its Series D round led by IIFL AMC’s private equity fund.
CollegeDekho: Based on Gurugram CollegeDekho, a platform for college admissions and educational services, has raised $ 26.5 million (Rs 200 Crore) in an “ongoing and oversubscribed” Series B funding round.
WeRize: WeRize, a financial services platform for small towns, has raised $ 8 million in its Series A round led by 3one4 Capital, Picus Capital, Kalaari Capital and Orios Ventures.
Zeotap: Bangalore and Zeotap, the next-generation Germany-based customer data platform, announced the raising of an $ 11 million extension of its Series C funding round.
immune IA: immune IA, a biotech start-up that is developing an AI-powered antibody discovery and screening platform, announced on Wednesday it had raised $ 1 million in a fundraising round led by Pi Ventures, with the existing investor Entrepreneur First also participate.
Game: Mumbai Angels Network, a premium startup investment platform for early stage venture capital investments, said on Thursday it has invested $ 0.32 million in GameEon Studios, one of the new entrants to the space fast growing game.
Farmers Fresh Zone: Startup Agritech Farmers Fresh Zone which has made a name for itself in the market with ‘Know your farmer‘ the use of traceability technology has raised Rs 6 crore or $ 0.8 million in pre-series A thanks to existing investors.
Anveshan: Food brand D2C Anveshan raised $ 0.5 million in its funding round led by DSG Consumer Partners, Titan Capital and Anjali Bansal. Existing funders as well as angels such as boAt Lifestyle and Beardo Founders also participated.
Strip: Coutloot, an offline-to-online (O2O) social commerce platform, raised $ 8 million in a pre-series round led by venture capital firm Ameba Capital. SOSV, 9Unicorns, Astarc Ventures also participated in the round, including existing investor Venture Catalysts.
Nova advantages: Nova Benefits, an employee wellness platform in India focused on corporate health insurance, has raised a $ 10 million Series A led by Susquehanna International Group (SIG) and Bessemer Venture Partners. Existing investors Multiply Ventures, Better Capital and Titan Capital also participated in this tour.
Lido Learning: Startup Edtech Pool Learning raised $ 10 million in a round led by Unilazer Ventures, led by Ronnie Screwvala.
Wellcurve: The online nutrition products platform Wellcurve has raised $ 600,000 or $ 0.6 million in its 9 Harvard alumni-led fundraiser under the Harvard President’s Management Program.
Mega: Skills-based real-money gaming startup GetMega has raised $ 15 million in its Series B round from Nexus Ventures, Accel India and Hashed Venture Fund. The Bengaluru-based startup previously raised $ 9 million from Nexus Ventures and Accel India in its round of funding and Series A.
Proon: Pune-based food ingredients startup Proeon has raised $ 2.4 million in a seed funding round led by Shaival Desai with participation from Flowstate Ventures, Peak Sustainability Venture Fund I and d ‘others.
Vidyakul: A vernacular edtech platform, Vidyakul has raised $ 500,000 to $ 0.5 million in a funding round led by We Founder Circle (WFC). JITO Angel Network and Thinkuvate also participated in the round.
Goodmylk: Bengaluru-based food tech startup GoodMylk has raised $ 1 million as part of a startup cycle extension from a group of domestic and international angel investors.
Field proxy: Fieldproxy, a no-code SaaS platform, raised Rs 2 crore, or roughly $ 0.27 million in its fundraising round led by LetsVenture, 2am VC and magic.fund. Angel investors such as KRS Jamwal, Ajit Despande, Kushal Khandwala, Nilesh Patel, Ketan Kothari and Shreya Rao have also joined the round.
Elixia Tech: Elixia Tech Solutions Ltd, a Mumbai-based Supply Chain Startup, Raised $ 1 Million in Pre-Series A Funding Round led by the Rajasthan Venture Capital Fund (RVCF) and other angel investors.
bitsCrunch: Chennai and Germany-based bitsCrunch, an emerging NFT-focused blockchain analytics start-up, raised a funding round of Rs 5.5 crore ($ 0.75 million) by Covalent, Double Peak, GenBlock Capital, Ledger Prime, MEXC Global, and Synaps.
Prolgae: Prolgae Spirulina, manufacturer and seller of superfood spirulina to various food and medical industries in the country, raised $ 0.2 million in a seed funding round from angel investor Vijayan.
Biddano: A B2B healthcare supply chain platform, Biddano has raised $ 2 million in a new round led by Coinbase and Pinterest board member Gokul Rajaram.
Genie Mode: B2B cross-border sourcing and supply chain tech startup, Geniemode has raised $ 2.25 million in its funding round led by Info Edge Ventures. Angel investors such as Deepinder Goyal, Kunal Shah, Prashant Malik, Pankaj Gupta and others also participated in the round.
Neokred: Neokred, a Bengaluru-based tech startup that provides an open banking stack, extended its funding round to raise additional $ 0.5 million in funding from the Virenxia Group, Rajesh Jain and Nitin Agarwal.
Flipspaces: Interior design tech startup Flipspaces raised $ 2 million in its pre-series B round led by a consortium led by Prashasta Seth, former CEO of IIFR AMC. Family groups and people with high net worth (HNI) have also joined the cycle.
Fleek: Fleek, a subscription management platform, raised $ 1 million in its fundraising campaign led by Axilor. RTP Global Ventures, Titan Capital and 9Unicorns Accelerator as well as angel investor Ramakant Sharma and his syndicate also participated.
GoKwik: GoKwik, an ecommerce activation startup, has raised Rs 40 crore or $ 5.5 million in its pre-Series A round led by Matrix Partners India. RTP Global and a group of angel investors such as Jitendra Gupta, Nitin Gupta, Amit Lakhotia and others also participated in the round.
InfyU Laboratories: Agritech startup InfyU Labs raised Rs 1.8 crore or $ 0.25 million in an IAN funding round. The round was led by angel investors – KRS Jamwal, Sanjay Bansal and Vishnuraj Kunjur.
Trillbit: Boston-based deeptech startup Trillbit, with an office in Bangalore, has raised $ 1.5 million in its funding round from Chennai-based start-up venture capitalist Refex Capital and start-up venture capitalist Good Growth Capital (GGC) .
TechAigle: TechEagle, a drone delivery startup, has raised $ 500,000 or $ 0.5 million in its round of funding led by India Accelerator. Vinners Group, Sitics Logistics and other renowned angel investors also participated in the round.
Voxelgrids: Zoho Corp. invested $ 5 million for a 25% stake in Voxelgrids, a Bengaluru-based startup that builds magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners.
COGOS: Bangalore-based corporate logistics startup COGOS Technologies raised $ 2 million in pre-series A round of funding led by Transworld Group, a global logistics and shipping company.
Gigforce: Gigforce, the tech-focused, gig worker-focused staffing startup, said on Tuesday it had raised $ 3 million in a pre-Series A round led by Endiya Partners, with participation from the existing investor Unitus Ventures and angel investors.
NeuroPixel.AI: Garment cataloging-focused Deeptech SaaS startup NeuroPixel.AI raised $ 825,000 or $ 0.8 million in its funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures. Entrepreneur First, Huddle, Dexter Angels and Rishaad Currimjee also participated in the round.
Intello Laboratories: Artificial intelligence-driven agriculture tech startup Inello Labs raised Rs 37.3 crore or $ 5 million in round led by Avaana Capital that brings the company’s valuation to around Rs 246 crore or nearly $ 34 million, depending on Fintrackr’s estimates.
Smart Harvey: Clever Harvey, a teen-focused career discovery platform, said it got $ 1.5 million (Rs 11.03 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round led by TechNova Ventures.
Offers not disclosed this week
Sapio Analytics, SolRazr, GimBooks, Roll number, OckyPocky and Setu.in did not disclose their financial details.
