“Easter Sunday” Filmmaker Jay Chandrasekhar Signs With Cinetic Media – Deadline
EXCLUSIVE: Multi-hyphen Jay Chandrasekhar (Easter Sunday) has signed with Cinetic Media for all media management.
Chandrasekhar is an actor, writer, entrepreneur and filmmaker, as well as a founding member of the comedy troupe Broken Lizard. His work with this group includes the cult favorite features super soldiers, Super Troopers 2, dread club and Oktoberfest in which he wrote, directed and starred. He is also known for directing the hit 2005 remake of The Dukes of Hazard for Warner Bros.
Chandrasekhar recently directed the comedy Easter Sunday, with comedian Jo Koy, for Universal and DreamWorks, which is slated for release August 5. The love letter to the Filipino-American community of Koy revolves around a man returning home for an Easter celebration with his rowdy family, bickering, eating, drinking, laughing and loving. Chandrasekhar has also co-written, produced and co-starred in Searchlight’s upcoming film. Almost through his work with Broken Lizard.
